Grand Hotel Europe

Located in the very heart of the historic central shopping and business district of St. Petersburg, the Grand Hotel Europe combines all of the splendor of a bygone age with deluxe modern facilities and the highest international standards of service. The first five-star hotel in Russia, the Grand Hotel is far more than simply a superlative hostelry--it is, like only a few hotels around the world, an integral part of the history and the culture of its city and its nation. Its roots date back to the 1820s, and for more than 150 years the Grand Hotel Europe has stood at the very center of the city's social, cultural, and commercial life. Completely renovated between 1989 and 1991, the hotel is today more vital, more magnificent, and more enchanting than ever before.

The Grand Hotel Europe has played host throughout its lifetime to the great names of Russian history and to notable figures and leading personalities from all over the world. A favorite haunt of Tchaikovsky, Turgenev, Anna Pavlova, and Maxim Gorky, the hotel continues to this day to attract the rich, famous, and talented from around the globe. In 1996 alone, we were pleased to welcome President Bill Clinton, Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Prince Michael of Kent, the Prince of Malaysia, Sir Peter Ustinov, and Sharon Stone, as well as many other celebrities and VIPs.

Plot Twists

Ideas:

1. The team is mistaken for defectors and the one 'bad' guy be the one who is loyal to the Agency and will tell them where we are and turn us in to our own people. I also thought to have anyone contacting any agent captured in Russia that doesn't kill the captured (who might be a risk for divulging information) be seen as as disloyal. That way, even Colton might get involved and have to walk on the dark side *grins*.

2. Everyone could find a city in Russia in which to hide. All those going w/me to St. Petersburg...let me know. (Do some research on your city, have it on hand when we play to add realism with descriptions/pics/etc.)

3. Anyone want to take various interesting pictures of people (Russell Crowe, Kate Winslet, etc., and make up mini profiles that can later be used if we need a good guy or bad guy in a hurry?)

4. Who goes psycho? No, it's not a parlor game for agents, but instead, does anyone have a desire to simply go nuts for awhile? What is more dangerous than a psychotic and well-trained agent? (And Anna, despite your protests that you are a 'lousy' agent, this could easily include you.)

5. Research your fav. car, plane, gun, computer, techie-device, haute couture clothing line...all for realism.

*Kinda some things thrown out for discussion. Comments please...*

Douglas MacLachlan

Former Royal Marine, Ret.

Age 34
Ht. 6'2"
Wt. 200

Douglas' retirement from the Royal Marines SAS unit came after an event that is sealed in his records. Since age 30 he has been an integral part of several international anti-terrorist and peacekeeping missions. At present, he works for the Agency in the capacity of a weapons specialist and security analyst.

He is friendly, outgoing and loves to flirt. His sense of humor is bold and occasionally blunt. He has a Scottish accent which he can tone down to suit the situation. Proficient with numerous armament types, he is an excellent agent to have in a tense situation.

Never married, he does own a delapidated family manor home near the Orkneys in the far north of Scotland.

Tatiana

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Tatiana is a modern day gypsy tinker with a vastly varied background of interwoven bloodlines (from Scottish Crofter to Russian Nobility) and no permanent home to speak of.

She is restless if she's in one place longer than a week. Her only regret is not being able to return to her father's family home in Romania more often. In her line of work, it's not some place she wants associated with her.

She's late 20-ish, medium height and slender. Her strengths are her agility, skill with knives/guns and quick reflexes. She keeps her dark hair long and usually braided. Her accent is somewhat British but there is another element that makes it difficult to place. If she gets angry she may scream at you in Romanian or Gaelic.

Her language skills are ones born of her 'diplomat' father's travels and not formal study. She's lived more years in the US than any other country, and has a college background with one degree and most of another.

Her interests include history and art and she reads voraciously. She still practices gymnastics, ballet and UPC. Lots of UPC....
